Men go through a bizarre routine at various times of the week... Shaving! They start this complex and intimate process by scalding their face with hot water to open up the skin's pores. Then they cover their face with thick foam. Finally they scrape their face with a sharp blade to remove the unwanted hair. While this is a necessary routine for most men, the typical shaving foam they are using is full of chemicals and is not particularly good for their face.

All foams, gels and creams are made to do the same thing, which is to lubricate the skin and act as a cushion between skin and razor's blade. Shaving gels provide more lubrication and tend to be a good moisturizer. These are therefore a better choice for most men. The extra lubrication enables the razor's blade to glide more smoothly and easily over the face reducing nicks and skin irritation.
The best lubricant is shaving cream. These are often creamier, thicker and tend to provide the most lather. The richer consistency of the shaving cream provides extra cushioning for exceptional smoothness. It is recommended that you apply shaving cream with a proper shaving brush which is usually made from badger hair. A good quality shaving brush will ensure that the whole area of your face is covered with the cream, while also lifting the hairs from the skin making them easier to cut. Using a brush will help remove any dead skin cells leaving your skin looking more vibrant while reducing the appearance of spots. The brush also helps to spread the cream further making it more cost-effective compared to foams and gels.
